CafePress lets you open a clothing business without a physical store. |
Everything in your store is printed on demand and sent to your customers by CafePress. They charge a base price for each of the over 250+ items you can sell. You earn whatever markup you place on each item. All you have to do is keep your store stocked with fresh designs, and drive your target market to your store.
Once you're set up it's a side hustle you can tinker away at from any device. Create designs on your tablet while watching the TV, promote your shop when you're browsing social media on the bus. Notify your customers of new designs using the built in newsletter features while you sip a fresh brew at your local coffee shop. It's the business you can take anywhere and work on anytime!
Unfortunately it's not as convenient for your customers. Not a single one of CafePress' official shop templates (at the time of writing) are mobile friendly. They're passable on larger tablet devices but next to impossible to browse, and text is unreadable, on a phone without copious amounts of zooming and horizontal scrolling.
This is something I discovered when I went back to give my own CafePress Store a much needed overhaul and some TLC. I have been a CafePress shop keeper since 2004.
Between then and now mobile devices have become part of everyday life. As you would expect, CafePress shop keepers have been asking for a mobile friendly store template for years, with many settling for stripped back stores that are mobile friendly but look awful on large, laptop and desktop screens.

This is how my TET.Life store scales for an iPhone screen in portrait mode. |
My CafePress custom store, shop template is easy to install with complete instructions. The colors and fonts can be modified directly through Cafepress' Color and Fonts page. My custom HTML code is fully documented throughout so you can see how it works and make your own customizations without having to spend too much time working out what everything does.
All you need to do is create your own 960 x 222 pixel shop banner, host it for free on a site like Imgbox, and copy the banner's URL into your custom template.
Visit my CafePress Stores TET.Life and Animation and Video Life to see examples of this template in action. Be sure to view them on every size screen you have available that you're customers are likely to use.
With my mobile friendly, custom CafePress store, shop template you'll be ready to start stocking your store with designs in under 30 minutes and your store will work and look great on any size screen.
Purchase the template from my Gumroad store, for just US$14.99, by clicking the I want this button below - which, I think, is more than a reasonable price for the effort I put in to make sure the template is as easy to install and use as possible.
If you do install the template, you're more than welcome to leave a link to your store in the comments below (and don't forget to write a sentence or two about your designs to entice my readers).
