My first Vlog entry is so interesting!

In the spirit of my past blog entires such as 'My first blog entry is more interesting than yours' and 'The infamous second blog entry' I felt it only fitting that my first video blog entry should be equally lame.

That way things can almost certainly get better from here on in. Enjoy (or not) - you'll be back I'm sure!

Just press the 'play' button to view the video. Not sure what it's like on dialup but works good on broadband.

  1. Tell me more! Tell me more! I am hanging on your every word and will definitely tune in regularly to catch the next episode! Then - as your Mum, I haven't seen you since July'04, being in another state, so you could be speaking Chinese and I would tune in just to get to see you!

I have played this 4 times, because I had to wait for that little blue line to finish loading, I realised - or hoped - as it kept stopping and starting, freezing your face into funny expressions, so I could only hope that I would get to hear the whole story! (perhaps it's because my broadband is on the lowest Easy Start plan at the moment with 56k modem speed, or is this normal?)I had to turn my speakers right up too and turn down the tellie!

I was wondering if the screen area could be a bit bigger to fit your whole head or sit back a bit from the screen as when you get too close, it enlarges the features, mainly the nose?

I see you are rugged up for the cold in your studio, and you looked quite decent - even the hair - no beanie.... but maybe a bit more colour in clothes, with some soft lighting, to give you a nice warm glow!! I don't know about these tech things, just suggestions, but I think it's great - will email the rellies to have alook! Have you got web cam for the Messenger and would it be as good as this, or is that only still pictures, if you don't have video facility?

  3. The video probably would stop and start a bit on the lowest plan but it sounds like it was still watchable.

I don't know about you're sound though. On this particular video I doubled the volume so I think maybe you need better speakers or should really have a good look at your sound settings. I can hear this video okay with only the volume turned half way up on all of our computers.

I was sitting close to the camera cause I wanted it to seem like I was speaking up close and personal. In future videos I'll sit back a bit so my head doesn't get chopped off.

It's very hard to get the lighting right too - particularly at night (when this was recorded) but I'm working on it. Working on the colour also but this looks washed out a bit because of the lights.

If I was using messenger I'd use the same web cam - so the picture might be about the same, not sure how fluid the motion would be though - could be a bit choppy.

The Armchair Entrepreneur - The Worst Kind of Entrepreneur... Apparently?

Entrepreneurs, just like Artists, seemingly have a 'snobby' section who like to draw the line of what actually constitutes an 'entrepreneur' much closer to them than near any of the riff raff, wannabes who dare suggest they might be one too.

I came to the term 'Armchair Entrepreneur' independent of the knowledge that they were a real thing and, based on my research (because I couldn't believe the idea hadn't already been thought of), discovered Armchair Entrepreneurs are almost universally disliked as people who claim to know everything about business without having actually put any of that knowledge into practice.

Just like your typical armchair sports person who yells at the TV during the weekend games.

As I got deeper into my research I discovered the people who dislike Armchair Entrepreneurs with a passion would often go on to describe what being an Entrepreneur actually entailed, listing off a lifestyle that sounded quite honestly like a living he…

Guest Post: MY SOOPER DOOPER NEW CONSERVATORY/ART STUDIO!

Today's guest post is by Artist, Writer, and Mental Health Advocate, Jo B Creative who writes for her blog, Creating My Oddessey.

You should see our (almost) brand new conservatory, half of which is my art studio. 'Lucky me!' I think to myself. Not every creative bod can boast that. It's HUGE! Like a giant greenhouse.

We first moved to our pleasant cul-de-sac house - great for raising kids - when our son, who's on the cusp of thirty-one, was four. One of the main reasons that we wanted it was that, apart from its location on the fringes of a historic market town in rural Hampshire, UK, it had a sizable conservatory looking onto the back garden. It was brown wood framed and had a corrugated transparent roof sloping down from downstairs ceiling height. On the face of it, it doesn't sound that glamourous, but we loved the idea of a conservatory. Luxury! I even liked the red brick walls which it was built against - the original exterior of the house - and the light …

Batman v Superman: Dawn of the Onesie #Sadbatman

Although we haven't seen it clearly for sure, film director Kevin Smith (who has seen a well lit, color photo of the suit), says Ben Affleck's Bat costume is pretty much identical to the Frank Miller, Dark Knight Returns suit. If that's true then Ben's world weary Batman will be going 'old school' and be wearing his underpants on the outside (as he should).

Kickflips Continued and Trying Backside 50-50s on my Skateboard Slider

I have been thinking about my board slider and how I might feature it more in my video skating sessions. I don't use it very often because all I can do on it is really short nose slides and fairly short board slides.
In order to use it more I need to get used to doing grind tricks on top of it but because it has fairly large coping I don't find it easy to lock my wheels into it - even for a basic grind trick like a 50-50. As such, ollieing onto it (which I would do without a second thought if it was a concrete curb), seems like quite a dangerous proposition.
However, after some consideration, I decided lifting my front truck onto the slider and then trying to leverage my back truck on in a kind of backside 50-50 slappy motion, seemed doable. So that's what you can see my try in my latest driveway skateboard session in the video below.
Naturally I did spend some time trying kickflips first as I'm still trying to land these. Unfortunately my mind was more focussed on trying…

Creating a Mobile Independent Artist Business - Part 10: Opportunities to make money (Part A)

In my last post I looked at What to Create and Finding Your Market. This post is something of a natural follow on from finding your market as many of these money making opportunities include their own market places that you can research to see what kinds of themes and subjects sell best.

It's worth doing this research to find out if the art you're already creating is a good fit for that market place - which is ideal - or if you may have to consider expanding your interests to cover popular themes in order sell in a particular market.

getpaidtodraw.com - Your Questions Answered.

Is it a scam? Is the sales message too good to be true? Can you really sit back, relax and get paid thousands of dollars in residual payments?

If you've discovered the site getpaidtodraw.com and have been looking for someone who has bought this product before taking that leap then this review will peel back the glossy sales message and give you the answers. Prior to buying this product I came across much distrust and misinformation about getpaidtodraw.com by people who hadn't purchased it. There was a real need for information so I decided to take the leap and make the purchase specifically so I could write this informed review. Note that I am not, in any way, a getpaidtodraw.com affiliate.

For this review I will be focusing on the getpaidtodraw system which includes; the ebook, instructional videos and database along with access to the systems author Jules Camber (who replies to emails as 'Jamie, President of Champ Entertainment, Inc and Beats365, LLC'). I'll touch …

Ice Sculptor, Aerialists, Mount Lofty, and Hahndorf, Adelaide - Queen Elizabeth Cruise 2020

Our first full day at sea on our Queen Elizabeth Cruise was anxiety inducing. For the first time since, I can't even remember we would have no internet access on our mobile phones for at least 24 hours.

If you're new to TET Life, or this is your first post, I'm blogging about a cruise ship holiday my partner, Enigma, and I went on at the end of January 2020 for eight days.

You may like to continue reading from this point or you might like to start from the beginning, Automobiles, Planes, Buses, Trams, and Boats and then click  Queen Elizabeth Cruise 2020 to get the all the posts, in descending order, of how we got here.
Day 2: Sea DayA 'sea day' is exactly what it sounds like, a day spent entirely on board the ship at sea. All cabins have full room service included so we began our day by ordering breakfast in bed as the ship made its way to Adelaide.
Although the food you can order to your cabin is pretty much the same as what you can get from the various restaurants, …
