Movie Review: Eternals Spoiler Free

Based on the early reviews I was expecting this movie to be just fine. While it's the worst rated Marvel movie to date it's a bit like saying plain chocolate is the worst chocolate. There may be better chocolates out there but it's still chocolate.

While Eternals does slow down a little through the middle with quite a few dialogue heavy scenes, overall it's still a solid movie that held my attention all the way through. I kind of suspect it'll be a little like Thor The Dark World, the previous contender for worst Marvel movie. More people will start to come around on re-watches as we see how the events of this film affect the wider MCU going forward.

The basic story is that the Eternals have been tasked with keeping humans safe from some fairly horrendous creatures, known as Deviants over thousands of years. Having completed their task many years ago the Eternals have been living on Earth awaiting further direction, when suddenly Deviants begin to appear again.

I do agree with some critics that this movie does have too many characters but only in so far as trying to remember all their names. It is true that we don't really get much backstory for some of the Eternals but I don't think knowing more of their history would've really added anything. I feel we got just enough of each character for their level of participation in the film.

However, if you're going to see the film for a particular cast member you could easily be disappointed about their lack of screen time.

I don't have a lot to say about the Eternals. The story is fairly epic in terms of what it adds to the MCU and the ramifications of where we're left at the end. The cast are all very good with what they were given. The special effects were pretty amazing, feeling less like a CGI festival than other MCU films, particularly in the final battle (even though it was).

I think the movie will become more important, as new MCU movies are released dealing with the consequences and events of Eternals, but for the moment, it sits as a solid entry, not for everyone, but still pretty good.

Although Anthony is my preferred PM over Dutton the irony is Dutton sounds more like a leader with a fairly commanding voice and an ability to speak well, without sounding like he's waffling and dodging questions, even if he is. Anthony, on the other hand, does have the ability (and speech writer) to say a lot of inspiring things but it gets lost in the delivery. He doesn't seem to know when to emphasise a point for effect. Review: Beware the Batman - Animated TV Series

I first wrote about the 26 part TV series, Beware the Batman in my Animation and Video blog when the initial trailer was released back in June of 2013. At the time I was underwhelmed with the shows CGI and almost immaculate Gotham City streets. For some reason the show was only ever aired at odd times on late night TV here in Australia, which seems to have been it's fate for the second half of the series in the USA too. As a result I only ever caught two or three episodes before the show disappeared. Apparently being declared a financial failure by Cartoon Network .

James Gunn's Social Media Monkeys Joke Was a Highlight of His Superman Movie For Me

B efore James Gunn's Superman Movie was released there was a whole rumor going around that the movie would feature monkeys on computers trolling Superman's social media, sparking much outrage. #supersh*t. A fter hearing just about everybody I know, who's into comic book TV and film, say how great the new animated Disney+ series X-Men 97 is, I decided to check it out. Most people said you didn't need to watch the actual 90's animated series that this continues from in order to enjoy it or know what was going on. More than one fan of this new series offered the hyperbole that this is one of Marvel's best, up there with the likes of Wandavision and Loki , and that it should be more popular and getting more attention than it has. Typically animated series don't usually do as well as live action shows, so it already has that hurdle - and it is a continuation of a show aimed directly at younger audiences to begin with. Being a fan of the 1995, Terry Gilliam movie, Twelve Monkeys , when I discovered SyFy channel had adapted it into a TV series, 12 Monkeys , I was interested to see how that would pan out. HRP-4C Robot, Proof of Concept

The HRP-4C Robot (pictured right - photo, Yahoo News ) that recently strutted down the catwork at a Japanese fashion show is a very exciting development in humanoid, robot technology because, as far as I'm concerned, it's 'proof of concept'.
